“Bridging the gap between busy lives and better health”
Who we are:
Practical Nutrition is a private nutrition practice, which currently has 3 Registered Dietitian’s/Nutritionist’s. Our practice is based on 3 main principles:
1. Using foods in their most natural state to restore health and vitality to the body.
2. Putting emphasis on the journey, not the destination, of bettering health to ensure long lasting results.
3. Meeting each individual where they are at, and using evidence based information and accountability to help them reach their goals.

A little background about me:
Growing up food was always a big part of my life. It was always the center of attention at all family gatherings, graduation parties, and birthdays. Food has a way of bringing people together and bringing joy to our lives. I have always had a passion for food and as I got older and became involved in different sports, I developed a passion not just for food but for nutrition and how much what we eat affects our overall health and well being. I look at food and diet as the heart of our overall physical, mental, and spiritual health. If we can figure out what way of eating works best for each of us individually, then we can overcome health problems and live happy, fulfilling lives.
The path I took to get here:
This passion for health and nutrition lead me to attend the University of Connecticut and complete the coordinated Dietetics program. During the program, I completed a 1200 hour internship where I practiced clinical nutrition, community nutrition, food service, and counseling skills. I practiced clinical nutrition at Saint Francis Hospital, UConn Health Center, Manchester Memorial Hospital, and Johnson Memorial Hospital. I also practiced food service at various hospitals in CT and at Horace W. Porter School in Columbia, CT and counseling in Oncology, Dialysis, and Diabetes at UConn Health Center and Community Health Services. Overall, I had a great experience in the program and was fortunate enough to study many different areas of nutrition.
